GOLDEN PLAINS SHIRE COUNCIL : PLANNING WITH GREENLIGHT
Golden Plains Shire Council has collaborated with the planning portal, Greenlight to help their customers register and apply for permits. Greenlight is a web based product developed by E-VIS for Councils to accept planning applications from applicants. It allows applicants to monitor and track the progress of their registrations, while liaising with Council staff.
Applications can be submitted once all information is uploaded into Greenlight. In the days after lodgment, the nominated applicant or contact for the application, will receive notification of the required lodgment fee and the name of the planner assigned the application. This correspondence will be generated via Greenlight and sent to the nominated email address. Payment can then be made online, via the Greenlight portal.
ONLINE 'GREENLIGHT' PLANNING PORTAL
These applications are no longer being accepted outside of Greenlight. Applications for written building and planning advice have moved to the Greenlight portal as well. One only needs to register once to undertake any of these functions. The length of time to assess a planning permit application depends upon on the complexity of the proposal. Other factors which impact on timeframes include whether or not any referrals and advertising are required and if objections have been received. Council will decide to either approve or refuse an application. Applicants and objectors have an opportunity to appeal a decision within the specified timeframes if they are not satisfied. Council’s operations are large and complex, road maintenance and construction, parks, building and planning, and this diversity in services creates challenges in the many facets of Council’s operations. By teaming up with Greenlight, many of the above challenges are dealt in the most efficient way and some are dispensed with even before they become a challenge!
Greenlight Portal dramatically simplifies user experience, streamlining the processing system within Council, permitting the Customer Service groups to convey a more effective and ideal support to the residents.
